Kristin Sharp, LCSW-S
Owner, Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor
I believe college students, teens, and young adults need someone other than their parents or friends to process their life with. These time periods in life are especially challenging as there are so many moving parts at play and so much is changing in the brain. I remember vividly what it was like to be where you are. I know firsthand how hard, and especially how common it can be to feel misunderstood or confused. My goal is to understand you. What your feelings are, what you have carried from experiences, and what you need. Therapy is a space to be your authentic self and discover more about your history, what shapes you into who you are, and where you would like to go.
I approach therapy with the perspective that I am there to support and uncover your own personal agency and strengths. You know yourself the best and you are the expert of your life. Together, we can explore the parts that are hindering growth. I am relational in my approach with clients, as this is important for change to occur- for you to feel safe, seen, and supported. I like to integrate humor into our sessions where it fits and hold space for the tears that may flow. I have been told by clients that I am a direct yet gentle therapist. I provide supportive and encouraging feedback as you need.
With families, I approach issues with curiosity and directness. We are in a safe space to discuss the hard stuff. The goal is to heal the wounds that are keeping the dynamic within the family in the same cycle. Whether it is an issue between one parent and a child, or the entire family unit, we can work towards repair and improved communication, together.

I integrate a variety of modalities and approaches into my work, as each are useful for various issues and individuals. My clinical work is rooted in interpersonal neurobiology and attachment theory, with training in specific modalities to treat trauma. I primarily utilize Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to work on managing distressing emotions, and Family Systems for work with families in conflict.
I am committed to providing a safe, healing, and inclusive space for all persons.
